Teenagers Internet Socializing Not a Bad Thing

Parents think the internet is a waste of time, but the kids are actually learning from it. This article is correct for many reasons but it is also incorrect at the same time. Some ways in which it is correct and has the right information is that there are people in the world who are trying different ways to get access to kids on the computer. Some have been successful and it ends up having the child be kidnapped raped, or even killed. This is the scariest thing for parents when there kids are on the internet. Some of the access points have come through kid's myspace pages, facebook pages, and IM
(Instant Messaging).
Parents are wrong if they believe this article also. They worry about their children talking to random people they don’t know when their kids are probably talking to some of their friends. Like the article said, “kids go on the computer to keep in touch with their friends each night,” this is usually what they are doing. It is possible that a predator or a potential pedifle is trying to talk to the kids but there are ways of making sure that your kids don’t talk to these people. You can block them from your screen name or facebook, you can get your parents help because they just want to help you be safe, etc.
