The story of Megan Meier and Lori Drew is a terrible story. Lori Drew told Megan that the world would be a better place if she wasn’t in it. Megan took this in the worst way possible which lead her into committing suicide. At the case with Lori Drew who pretended to be a teenage boy who Megan ended up liking. This could violate freedom of speech but at the same time it might not. Ways that it does is that the constitution of America strictly states that “All men are created equal and goes on to say that freedom of speech is to be given to everyone.” Ways in which this does violate that message is that there should be a limit of what should be said, people should not be saying stupid and hurtful things like this. Another question that could be brought up is, should Lori Drew be charged with murder? Lori Drew probably should not be charged with murder however she should be charged with false identity because of her impersonating a teenage boy. Lori didn’t tell Megan to kill herself or do anything to help her do it.

Everyone can be safe on the internet if they know who they are talking to. Parents all around are afraid of their sons or daughters on the internet just because of that one reason. If you do not know who it is you are talking to, then don’t talk to that person.

Teenagers Internet Socializing Not a Bad Thing

Parents think the internet is a waste of time, but the kids are actually learning from it. This article is correct for many reasons but it is also incorrect at the same time. Some ways in which it is correct and has the right information is that there are people in the world who are trying different ways to get access to kids on the computer. Some have been successful and it ends up having the child be kidnapped raped, or even killed. This is the scariest thing for parents when there kids are on the internet. Some of the access points have come through kid's myspace pages, facebook pages, and IM
(Instant Messaging).
Parents are wrong if they believe this article also. They worry about their children talking to random people they don’t know when their kids are probably talking to some of their friends. Like the article said, “kids go on the computer to keep in touch with their friends each night,” this is usually what they are doing. It is possible that a predator or a potential pedifle is trying to talk to the kids but there are ways of making sure that your kids don’t talk to these people. You can block them from your screen name or facebook, you can get your parents help because they just want to help you be safe, etc.

Technology and the Presidential Election of 2008

I think this article, Campaigns in a Web 2.0 World, by David Carr in the New York Times, was trying to show how technology has changed over the years and how the 2 presidential candidates used it. In the older days, people were using technological inventions like the radio. Technology was a huge way that people around the country was able to follow what’s going on and who’s saying what in the election. Obama and McCain have been using technology throughout the whole time they have been running for presidency. Some people can’t see what is happening on TV so instead they can go watch it on the web on sites like Youtube. You Tube is a new site that came to be in 2004. It is ran by Google.com. With You Tube you can see videos about anything you can thing of. On TV, the channels to see these debates between Obama and McCain are on NBC, ABC, and CNN. Tina Fey did impressions of who would have been the vice president of the Republican Party, Sarah Palin. The web has been a great source of information in these past couple months. On You Tube, things on the Presidential Election have been seen by thousands of people and in some cases by millions. The internet has proven to be one of the best reliable sources of information.
I think this article is a great way of explaining how important technology and the web affect our everyday lives. If we did not have the web, people would not and could not possibly stay up-to-date with all that’s going on.

I will never plagiarize peoples work because it is considered illegal to take credit by copy someone’s work. I will not post explicit pictures of myself on the web because people could get a bad impression of me and jobs and colleges can access those pictures and other information.
